Welcome to the online version of Karlheinz Essl's legendary Lexikon-Sonate - a computer program which generates piano music on the fly, in a never repeating manner. The original computer program (started in 1992) is written in Max/MSP and runs on Apple Macintosh computers. In order to enjoy the fruits of Lexikon-Sonate also online, I created a version for the Internet which works on all platforms (PC, Mac). Just click on the yellow "play" button below - then lean back and enjoy!
